A 23-year-old Kona man has been charged with several offenses in connection with a burglary on Queen Kalama Avenue in Kailua-Kona on April 5.

A 23-year-old Kona man has been charged with several offenses in connection with a burglary on Queen Kalama Avenue in Kailua-Kona on April 5.

Tonino Benson of Kailua-Kona was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of burglary. He was also arrested and charged with failure to appear in court and failure to return a rental vehicle in cases unrelated to the burglary. His bail for those offenses was $1,300. He appeared in court on Thursday for those charges and then was returned to the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Invest-igations Section continued the burglary investigation.

At 2:45 p.m. Friday, Benson was charged with burglary, theft, attempted theft and forgery.

His bail on those charges was set at $11,000.

He remains at the cellblock pending his court appearance Monday for the charges related to the burglary.
